Okie then, lets get something started. Let us use this thread to share our persona/s with each other.
James the Shepherd
Simple shepherd who got swept up during Richard's crusade. Ended up wandering all over the known world and beyond chasing sheep who wandered off. "Silk Road? Whats that? I was just tracking some lost sheep and the next thing I know..." _________________ It is a fearful thing

Fergal MacCome Pronounced Fer-ral Mac-Ome, the G is silent!
Celtic who traces his lineage back to Clan Macintosh. One day a traveling band of mercenaries were traveling through his town. He got the bright Idea to stowaway inside the caravan at the age of 12. He has been with the group ever since then. (Cheap labor anyone?) |

Well, all I know is...
Saerlaith ingen mic Neill lived in Ireland after the Viking invasions stopped in the region where she lived, and before the Norman invasion. I have not developed the details, but somehow her culture is intertwined with the Viking culture. Perhaps her family traded with Vikings or was married into a Viking family. All we know for sure is the rough time period, and that she had lots of sparklies that the Vikings would have acquired in trade... or other means.
PS I would be very interested in any articles or books that deal with 11th - 12th century Ireland in some detail. Unfortunately, in times or peace (ok less violence) if there were no battles, there is far less written! _________________
